Mike's Priorities

 Transparency is essential, and the public deserves clear access to address their elected officials. Public comment should be required at all meetings where decisions are made, not left as optional. People should also have better access to public records at a lower cost so they can stay informed and hold government accountable.

 Local governments are spending without enough regard for the needs of taxpayers, driving property taxes higher and putting pressure on families, seniors, and small businesses. I will support all effective tools that provide real property tax relief. Government must live within its means, just like the people it serves, and prioritize responsible budgeting over unchecked growth.

 Public benefits are intended for those who are in the country legally, and we must ensure that undocumented immigrants do not receive taxpayer-funded benefits. Clear standards and consistent enforcement are necessary to protect limited public resources and maintain fairness for those who follow the law.  

 Full funding for K–12 education is essential to ensure every student has access to a strong, high-quality learning environment. Students should have expanded scholarship and grant opportunities for career and technical education, helping open pathways that lead directly to good-paying jobs. Academic standards should be increased to promote literacy, physical fitness, and the skills needed for career and life readiness.

 Voters are capable of selecting judges who are qualified, prepared, and committed to providing impartial justice. Judicial elections ensure that the courts remain accountable to the people rather than a lawyer-dominated, self-interested system. Restoring this authority to voters will strengthen the public's trust and confidence in the judiciary.

 Election integrity is essential to maintaining public trust in our democratic system. Strong safeguards, consistent enforcement of election laws, and transparent processes help ensure every legal vote is counted and protected. Voters deserve confidence that elections are fair, secure, and free from undue influence. 

Law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to keep communities safe and deserve strong support. Fully funding law enforcement ensures officers have the training, equipment, and resources needed to do their jobs effectively. Policies should also protect officers from doxing and harassment, helping safeguard them and their families from targeted threats.

 The Constitution should be upheld in full, including a strong defense of the Second Amendment as a fundamental right. Protecting the right to keep and bear arms goes hand in hand with safeguarding all constitutional liberties. A consistent commitment to the entire Constitution ensures freedom, accountability, and the rule of law.
